The entitlement to free Early Years education in a nursery class is 15 hours per week. The number of admissions to the Nursery Class for each Academic year will be 14. The school will offer 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, from 9am to 12 noon. The earliest time that a child can join the Nursery Class is the term in which they are four. The Governors will, in no circumstances, consider an application for earlier admission. All parents will need to fill in the Nursery Admission Form which can be obtained from the school. Please note that there is no automatic right to transfer from a nursery place to a Reception place. Places are not allocated on a first come first served basis, but on the following criterion:- All children with Statements of Educational Needs who name the school will always be admitted. Once these children have been admitted to the school then places are allocated in accordance with the following over-subscription criteria: Looked after children and children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order. Children with a sibling on the roll of the school at the time of application and who is expected still to be at the school at the time of admissions, who have a normal home address (see note 2) in the schools catchment area, ie Spriggs Holly Lane, Radnage and Town End, Bennett End, The City, Water End, Radnage Common, Bottom Road and Green End Road to just West of Chorley Green Farm. (A map is available from the school office). Children in the catchment area (see criterion no.2) without a sibling on the roll of the school at the time of application.. (See note 3). Children out of catchment area with a sibling on the roll of the school at the time of application and who is expected still to be at the school at the time of admissions. Other children - Proximity of the childs home, as measured by the straight line method used by Buckinghamshire County Council, with those living nearer being accorded the higher priority, will serve to differentiate between children in all criteria should the need arise. In the event of there being two identical distances for the last available place, the child for whom the place is offered will be selected by random allocation in the presence of someone independent of the school. Late applications will only be considered if there are any places left. Admission at times other than main entry will follow the same criteria as other applications. Note 1: By parent, we mean a person who has parental responsibility for, or is the legal guardian of the child. If you are in any doubt, please contact the school for advice. Note 2: By normal home address, we mean your childs home address. This is your childs address at the time you make your application for a place. It is where you and your child live. We regard a childs home address to be where he or she spends the majority of the school week (Monday to Friday, including nights). We may ask to see official documentation, such as a child benefit book or medical card if there are reasons why a child does not live at his or her parents address. For example, if he or she is resident with a grandparent, you need to tell us this on the application form. If you do not declare any arrangements like this or use a relatives address for your application, we may consider that you have made a false declaration and withdraw the offer of a place. Childcare arrangements are not sufficient reason for listing another address. The school reserves the right to check the validity of any address given, by asking for evidence such as inclusion on the Electoral Roll, or a recent utilities bill confirming your name and address. If you are moving into the catchment area, we may ask for evidence of your move, before considering any application for a place. We will need to know that you will be resident in the catchment area on 1st September 2016. If you move after this date, we may still need evidence before considering an application. Note 3: This means a brother or sister, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, step brother or sister, or the child of the parent/carers partner where the child for whom the school place is sought is living in the same family unit at the same address as that sibling. In cases where there is one remaining place and the next child on the waiting list is of a twin, triplet or other multiple birth group, the following will apply: Twins and children from multiple births when one of the siblings is the 14th child admitted, the other sibling/s will be admitted. This also applies to children of UK service personnel admitted outside the normal admissions round. Waiting List Should the Nursery Class reach its maximum admission number, children will be placed on a waiting list in priority order, using the above criteria. We advise parents that, in accordance with our intimate care procedures, we are not able to accept children until they are toilet trained. In cases of specific medical toileting needs, a care plan will need to be drawn up by the school and parents. It should be noted that a place in Radnage C of E Primary School Nursery Class does not automatically guarantee a place at Radnage C of E Primary School. Applications for school places should be made in line with the Admissions Policy for Radnage C of E Primary School.
